How do I calculate what I need on my final exam?▾
The formula is: Required Score = (Desired Grade − Current Grade × (1 − Final Weight)) ÷ Final Weight. For example, if you have an 88% and want a 90% with a 20% final, you need: (90 − 88 × 0.8) ÷ 0.2 = 98%.
What if the calculator says I need over 100%?▾
That means it's mathematically impossible to reach your desired grade with your current standing. You can either lower your target grade or focus on raising your current grade through upcoming assignments before the final.
Does this work for midterms and quarter exams too?▾
